students in a classroom learning graphic design

Yoli Graphic Graphic Design Bootcamp took place from May 13 to May 17, 2025, at Yoli Technologies’ main office at Bonduma Tap Frida Farms, Buea. This five-day intensive program brought together students and working professionals eager to explore graphic design. Many participants had little to no prior knowledge of Photoshop or other design tools, yet by the end of the bootcamp, they left with practical skills, confidence, and a clear understanding that graphic design is accessible to anyone willing to learn.

The bootcamp was specifically designed for students interested in digital creativity and workers looking to upskill or transition into creative roles. Participants started with curiosity and some apprehension but quickly gained hands-on experience that allowed them to master essential graphic design principles within just five days.

The first day focused on design theory, establishing a strong foundation before participants moved on to practical exercises. They learned the fundamental principles of graphic design, including color, typography, layout, and visual communication. They also explored how to differentiate between good and bad designs and why certain visual choices resonate more effectively with audiences. This foundation ensured that participants understood not just how to create designs but why specific approaches work better.

From the second day onwards, the bootcamp became fully practical, using Adobe Photoshop as the main tool. Participants worked on real-world projects such as restaurant flyers, birthday invitations, educational and promotional materials, and other marketing visuals. Every session was hands-on, with participants actively following along on their own computers while trainers provided guidance and feedback in real-time. This approach allowed learners to practice continuously, ask questions, correct mistakes instantly, and build confidence with every completed design.

One of the most important outcomes of the Yoli Graphic Graphic Design Bootcamp  was participants’ ability to confidently create professional-looking flyers and marketing materials. Beyond technical skills, they developed an eye for good design, learning how to evaluate their own work critically. By the end of the week, participants reported feeling empowered and ready to apply their skills in school projects, professional tasks, or freelance opportunities.

The bootcamp also demystified Photoshop, a tool that many beginners often find intimidating. Through guided practice and hands-on exercises, learners realized that with patience, creativity, and structured training, anyone can develop graphic design skills. This transformation—from apprehensive beginner to confident creator—was one of the most rewarding aspects of the program.

Following the success of the 2025 bootcamp, Yoli Technologies is preparing for the next edition. The upcoming Graphic Design Bootcamp Buea will build on the same practical, beginner-friendly approach while introducing more advanced projects and techniques. Interested learners can stay updated through our website to join future sessions, improve their digital skills, and gain confidence in graphic design.
